Seagulls name final VFLW squad for 2019
Williamstown has named the squad to play in its final match of the 2019 VFLW season.
The Seagulls travel to Windy Hill on Saturday morning to aim for their second win of the season and finish the year on a high against Essendon.
Young ruck Elizabeth McGrath has been recalled having not played since Round 13, while Sophie Barbas, Kaitlyn Carew and Sally Seabrook are also a chance to take on the Bombers.
Kayla Koropeckyj will unfortunately miss, with co-captain Nikki Wallace will miss through concussion.
The Seagulls were combative against the Cats at La Trobe University on Sunday, kicking the opening goal of the game and trailing by just six points at the main break.
Another 94-tackle effort on the back of 95 the week prior will have the team confident that they can nullify Essendon's outside game.
It will also be the final match for the Bombers, who last week took home the spoils against the then ladder-leading Magpies.
Williamstown matched it in most areas against Essendon the first time the two teams met back in Round 12.
On that occasion, the Bombers were victorious after strong second and fourth quarters.
Assistant coach Lache Walker is confident the girls can finish the season on a positive note.
"The development of these younger girls should shine through," he said.
"Last game, nothing to lose - we're really going to give it a crack and hopefully our structures and game plan shines through."
