Pride Luncheon another success

Williamstown Football Club celebrated inclusiveness and promoted diversity with another successful Pride Day Luncheon held at the Seaview Events Centre.

It was the second-successive year the club has held the annual Pride Day fixture, with both our VFL and VFLW sides wearing special rainbow guernseys for their matches against North Melbourne and Melbourne Uni respectively at Downer Oval.

The luncheon ran from 12-2pm in the afternoon - where guests heard from guest speakers Senator Janet Rice, Angie Greene and Cameron Schwab.

Senator Rice is an Australian politician and is openly one of eight current LGBTQI members in Parliament, while Schwab - a well-known figure in the AFL industry - also has family ties in the LGBTQI community.

Angie Greene - the founder of Stand Up Events - is dedicated to fighting sexual and gender discrimination in Australian sport.

Williamstown Football Club is proud to host a significant occasion which promotes inclusiveness of all people and celebrates the LGBTQI community, priding itself on being a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

The club thanks all guests and the speakers for their involvement on the special day.
