2021 VFLW coaching panel finalised

Williamstown Football Club has finalised its VFLW coaching panel for the 2021 season, with six assistants to support head coach Penny Cula-Reid.

The Club is thrilled to retain Callum Hart and Cassandra Brooks as line coaches, with the new addition of Jules Hay.

Hay is a professional sports teacher who has worked at both Deakin and Monash universities and brings to her role extensive experience in the sports industry. She has coaching experience across a wide range of sports, including Aussie Rules, basketball, netball, athletics, swimming and field hockey and is the co-founder of Women’s Coaching Association.

Mathew Waters and Jasmine Kawa will fulfil roles as development coaches, while Allana Dickie is a playing-assistant, taking on the role of skills acquisition coach.

Kawa is also a member of this year’s leadership group but, unfortunately due to injuring her knee last year, will not feature on the field in 2021. Instead, the talented 22-year-old will play an important role in the coaches box.

With a specialist certificate in coaching female athletes, the Club is also excited to welcome Waters to the fold, who joins the Club after spending two season with Port Melbourne as their senior women's assistant coach. Waters also has experience as a game development officer at AFL Victoria and sports coach for Australian Sports Camps in 2019/2020.

VFLW Football Manager Claudia Davey said it is exciting to officially lock away the coaching panel after securing a memorable Round 1 win against Darebin.

“I am very excited about our coaching panel for 2021. All members bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in a range of areas from player development to elite sporting backgrounds which are in line with the culture and elite standards we are looking to drive within the playing group,” Davey said.

“Our off-field team is very strong and we are in a great position to get the best out of our playing group and deliver on-field performance.”
