Throwback Thursday: Nathan Buckley dominates the Borough

Collingwood champion Nathan Buckley made his return from a troublesome hamstring injury through the VFL with Williamstown back in 2007. It was the second and last time he would wear the blue and gold.

Despite playing only three quarters of the match, the 2003 Brownlow Medal winner collected 28 disposals and seven marks in his comeback game, also registering four goals in a dominant display against our arch rivals.

"The best thing about today was that I got through and (it's) another step in my recovery," Buckley told the ABC after the game.

"To have the opportunity to play with them (Williamstown) ... I've really enjoyed it.

"It  was a good performance and as I said, good to lay a tackle, get hit and just play a game of footy again."

The Seagulls were far too strong on the day, recording a 26.13 (169) to 7.12 (54) victory.
