Pitchcraft commence $2 million Downer Oval works

Williamstown Football Club is excited to see the re-construction process commence at Downer Oval.

Hobsons Bay Council recently approved the contract for the ground redevelopment to be awarded to Pitchcraft Pty Ltd, with Council's $2 million investment set to help deliver a ground surface that will meet the high standards of the VFL/VFLW and NAB state league competitions for tenant teams Williamstown and the Western Jets, as well as the needs of the many community users who are fixtured for games at Downer Oval each year.

Pitchcraft have reconstructed AFL venues Etihad Stadium, Manuka Oval (ACT), UTAS Stadium (Launceston Tasmania), Eureka Stadium (Ballarat) as well as North Port Oval (Port Melbourne’s VFL ground).

Downer Oval will be off limits for all users until May 2021, with Williamstown VFL and VFLW games will be fixtured at away venues until then.
