Debut for VFLW Seagull

Williamstown's VFLW side will unleash another debutant for this Saturday's game against the Darebin Falcons.

Tahlia Merrett has spent the past two seasons in the NAB League competition as a tall utility with the Eastern Ranges and can play either forward or back and now gets her chance to showcase her athletic traits in Round 7 of the VFLW season after being released from the Vic Metro squad for this weekend.

Kasie Nugent has been omitted from the side that went down to Melbourne Uni in Round 5, while fellow young gun Ruby Tripodi, Jaimi Paten and Annabelle Shannon are among the other inclusions.

The Seagulls - coming off their second bye week of the season - are looking to record their first win in 2019 when they take on the Falcons who are similarly locked away without a victory at the bottom of the ladder.

The contest will take place from 2:00pm at Bill Lawry Oval.
