VFL to return this weekend! | 2021 season fixture update

We're back! The AFL has today confirmed that following the end of the Victorian lockdown from 11.59pm, Tuesday 27 July, the VFL and VFLW seasons will re-commence this weekend.

In what will be round 16 of the VFL season, Williamstown will head to Piranha Park to face Coburg on Sunday from 2pm. With crowds not allowed under the restrictions still in place across the state (see below), the match will be live streamed right here on Youtube.

In a summary of the key changes following this morning's State Government announcement relating to community football and sport;

- (Community Sport is) Open for all ages, training and competition. Density quotient of 1 person per 4spm applies

- Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. players, coaches)

- Spectators NOT allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as teachers, instructors, trainers, coaches, umpires, carers, parents and guardians)

- Travel restrictions lifted

The 'Towners sit ninth on the VFL ladder on 22 points, on the fringe of the finals placings. The remaining three rounds of the VFL season following this weekend and subsequent fixtures will be confirmed and communicated by the AFL shortly. We'd also like to extend a big thanks to the VFL, AFL and AFL Victoria for their commitment to the season and ongoing consolation in what are difficult times.

We cannot wait to be back out on the park, and see all of our members and supporters cheering us on very soon.
