Greiser and Myers sign on
Williamstown Football Club is excited to announce the re-signings of VFL mainstays Jake Greiser and Billy Myers.
Leadership group members in previous seasons, the duo have 139 games of VFL experience between them and were key cogs in a side that made the 2019 grand final.
Greiser, 25, is a two-time development league premiership player with the Seagulls and has played 71 games at senior level since debuting in 2015.
The strong-bodied half-back flanker averaged 18.7 disposals per game in 2019 and continued to show great balance between being an offensive weapon and a tough negator.
Myers, a member of the Club’s 2015 premiership team, played 19 matches in 2019, averaging 14 touches and three marks per outing.
The 24-year-old has primarily been deployed as a medium defender in his 68 VFL matches but proved his versatility in last season’s finals series as a forward.
Myers slotted four majors when swung forward in an eye-catching preliminary final performance against Essendon.
“Both Jake and Billy are proven VFL players and key leaders within our group. With the changes within the competition, their experience and maturity will help guide a number of the younger players coming through whilst also continuing to set high standards within the group," GM-Football Stephen Soulsby said.
