Ben Cavarra’s stellar 2018 season has again but his name up in lights as the AFL Draft comes around.
A former Morrish Medallist as a midfielder, Cavarra’s switch to a small forward in the past two seasons has been rewarded with back to back VFL Team of the Year selections and the Club’s leading goal kicking award.
A stunning display against Coburg was the highlight of his season kicking five goals to go along with 23 disposals in a best on ground display.
A three goal, 15 disposal game in a comeback win over Footscray showed his match winning ability.
The livewire forward showed he saw an increase in midfield time compared to 2017 and had multiple games over 20 possessions to goal along with his 34 goals for the season.
Cavarra was invited to the Rookie Me combine in another showing that he is not far off the recruiter’s minds and he was a clear standout on the day.
