Development Seagulls too strong for Dolphins

Williamstown's Development team have picked up their first win of the pre-season, recording a comfortable 37-point win over Frankston today.

After a tight-knit first quarter where the Seagulls were only able to take the lead with a goal to Ash Heaver on the siren, the three-peat premiers broke the game open in the second with many of the club's new recruits having a hand in the performance.

Tall forward Josh Minogue booted two goals in two minutes, before snapping a third goal on his left in the third quarter to continue the Seagulls momentum.

Forwards Nick Ebinger and Tristan Davies both showed off their high-flying exploits at different stages and finished with three goals between them.

In defence, Liam McMahon was teriffic off the half-back flank, setting up many forays forward, while Lachlan Schultz was again prominent in the midfield, particularly early.

The Development team will get one last pre-season encounter when they face Sandringham at Burbank Oval on April 2.

Final Score

Frankston: 6.8 (44)

Williamstown: 12.9 (81)

Goals: Minogue 3, Davies 2, Schultz, Heaver, Maher, Helman, Di Ciero, T.Johnstone, Ebinger.
