George achieves VFL Life Membership
Lachlan George will achieve VFL life membership when he play his 175th game in this weekend’s clash against Sandringham.
The former North Ballarat, Box Hill & Tasmanian Devil, George now in his 11th season of the VFL is relishing his new found enthusiasm for the game following the exit of North Ballarat at the end of last season.
Despite the 1 ½ hours trek to Melbourne three times a week, the small forward / midfielder has found his feet as a Seagull having played 8 out of a possible 9 matches to date.
Further adding to his travel commitments, George also runs his own trucking business which operates both locally and nationally, adding to the complexities in his life as a VFL player, but also the reward for effort he has undertaking in order to play State League footy over the past 11 seasons.
George was third in the North Ballarat best and fairest last season, achieved VFL Team of the Year honours in 2013 and has so far kicked 137 goals from his 174 matches leading into this weekend.
Williamstown Football Club congratulates Lachlan on this fantastic achievement in his career and he will be awarded his Life Membership at the 2018 J.J Liston Medal awards night.
Despite the VFLW bye this weekend, we still had six girls press their case for selection.Read more ...
