Development Team Falls to Zebras in Final Hit-Out

Williamstown's Development team have gone down to a very strong Sandringham outfit by 57 points at Burbank Oval earlier today.

The Seagulls never recovered from a goalless opening term, as an inaccurate Sandringham continued to get many inside 50 entries throughout the contest.

However, it wasn't all doom and gloom for the reigning premiers of the past three Development seasons, with a number of individual highlights to lessen the blow.

The biggest positive was perhaps the return of luckless running defender Jack Dorgan, who made his long-awaited comeback after recovering from his third knee reconstruction.

Tall utility Jayden Burke also showed plenty of promise, with a performance that included a high-flying mark in defence during the second term.

Alex Carr won plenty of football through the middle while Nick Ebinger was able to provide a strong target up forward.

The Development team will have a bye over Round 1, and will open it's season against rivals Box Hill on Sunday April 10.

Final Score

Williamstown: 5.9 (39)

Sandringham: 12.24 (96)

Goals: Condon, Ebinger, Curtis, Hislop, Schultz.
